14,000 and going ……..

Inspired by some Persian music, yes that is music from Persia, I hit the 14,000 plus words road mark last night. It was pure joy. I had slowed down over the weekend to recharge the batteries abit. After unplugging myeslf from the charger, am rearing to go. The most interesting thing when writing is that whole chapters can come from the most unlikely source. I watched a news item, the light bulb went on in my head and I went running to my laptop. Sore fingers later, I managed to get a whole chapter done.

Internet research is also very crucial. You want to have relevant and interesting analogies. In my neck of the woods, bandwidth costs a tonne of cash. To get decent speeds, one has to lay out some serious cash. We are waiting for the market to open up and have serious players pushing seriuous bandwidth homewards, so I can research from my balcony, barefoot. Once the mystical, one-cures-all sub-marine fibre optic cable hits Mombasa, Kenya we are home and dry. Hopefully.

See you at KM 16000.

Past 12,000

Last night I chalked up an impressive 2,000 words. My book is really getting more “meat”. Thing is I even lost track of time and ended up past my regulated lights out time. I was so excited and am now seeing 20,000 words are within reach, in less that 4 days. I will work very hard to achieve this soonest. These milestones are huge morale boosters. Soon it will be 30,000 and the going gets better.

I am ecstatic!

5AM Dispatches

This morning I was focusing on my 18wpm typing speed. I have been one of those die hard 3-finger bang typists. With my book writing coming up so well, I had to up the ante. I am now more organized when it comes to typing. I was doing some calculations and figured out, I need to type 5, size-A4 font size 10 pages on my word processor daily, increasing to 15 pages in Saturdays. This would translate to 25+15=40 pages. I did some layout and saw that these translate to many pages of a typical size A5 book. Using this strategy, I am able to get alot of work done, just by focusing on getting 5 pages a day. Great thinking this.

5AM Dispatches

This morning my thoughts kept drifting to the lessons I have learnt from having read The Science of Getting Rich. They are quite weighty lessons these. I am now going through The Master Key System buy one Charles F. Haanel. I got these classic ebooks from www.thesecret.tv, that online home of the phenomenal DVD that I have been watching over and over.

My writing is upping the notch daily and last night I put in quite a few sections of various chapters. The book is taking shape slowly, and it looks good. I played around with the cover design and the results are great! Very satisfying. Before I went to bed, I put in 30 mins of ten finger touch typing tutorial. I figured since I am going to be doing lots of writing, I might as well learn how to type fast. Am aiming at 80 wpm, currently am at a low 18 wpm. Lots of ground to cover, but I will get there. When all is said and done, it is in my power to transform myself.

Then I shall be fabulously rich.

5AM Dispatches

What a weekend! I chalked up great strides in my book, it’s all looking nice. I am at the halfway mark of my intended page count. It was exciting! I also did a Saturday general clean out, throwing trash bags full of what I cannot give away, just junk lying in the house. I discovered it’s at times necessary to do a general clean out once in a while. The psychological benefits are immense. It clears your mind and you are in state of anticipation for new things that are surely coming your way.

I have discerned that I shall dedicate my life to pursuing my life’s purpose. I have determined what that is. I have created my vision, complete with a pictorial board. I have set short term, medium term and long term goals. Now am just living in a state of anticipation, attracting all the right things into my life.

I am feeling healthier, my relationships are superb, my time is very wisely spent. I could not ask for more.

5AM Dispatches

This morning my mind went to riches. Yes, good old riches. This is no surprise since a small book I stumbled across has got me thinking. More later n the post.

I did some serious writing yesterday evening and am very excited to see my book crystallize in front of my eyes. It very fulfilling. I played around with the cover design and it looked good. I projected the book in my mind to the book shelves, I saw myself autographing the book at a big event ……. It was so real!

So, I have been buried nose deep in the little book, a.k.a The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles. This little book written over 100 years ago and has remained a timeless classic. It postulates on the scientific, shortest distance between A and B from poverty to riches. It states that you have the right to be rich, and that if one follows the scientific method stated therein, he shall surely be rich.

I have read it several times and have really thought through the principles. I can see the life transforming thought process can can get one into riches. The book is very specific on what to do and how the exactness of the science cannot fail. If applied as stated, the science always works.

The book is emphatic that riches come to those who do things in a Certain Way. It is this Way that the science is anchored on. An example is given of immensely wealthy people who have lost everything in their business, but bounced back almost immediately. This is because they are already wired on the Certain Way, so they just start and do it all over again. And the riches just pour in.

The book further states that there is abundance in the universe such that we can all potentially become rich, no matter our status in life. So the only reason we are not is because we are not applying the science, either out of ignorance or sloth.

Very thought provoking thoughts these. I am re-reading it again.

………and we are back! This morning I did alot of meditation and deep thinking. The morning was quiet, save for the chirping of the resident birds and crickets and those other early morning types. It was very serene, indeed the right time to muse over the many things that have been going on in the last 2-3 weeks.

I have been on R&R and have done alot reading on vision, mission, the secrets to success. I have listened to lots of hours of audio on what is stopping us from achieving our successes as planned in our lives. I spent alot of time writing whole chapters of my books, and scribbling notes on all manner of things. I had a very enriching experience all in all.

The thing that came out clearly, for me, was that one needs to clearly grasp their purpose in this life. That is life purpose. Then you need to create a vision for your life. Vision is that mental picture of what you want your life to be. That is vision. Then you set goals, those short term day-to-day, month-to-month, year-to-year tasks that propel you towards your vision and hence or otherwise fulfill your purpose in life. Make sure the goals are SMART. That is goals.

So we all know these things. We have read all the books, attended all the seminars, workshops, conferences, training etc. We have folders and files with all these things written down. We have small notebooks that we carry all the time with all these things clearly written down. We have notice boards where we post in vivid colour all that we want to do and achieve.

Why then are we not living our purpose in life? Why are we not following our vision? Why are we we off-track on all our goals? Why is our life the same as it was 5 years ago?

Weighty matters these. I shall meditate more and share.

5AM Dispatches

Today was on of those days that I skipped my usual morning run. Being a little under the weather, the body said no, while the mind said go, go, go! Eventually the body won. So as I sat solemnly at my reading table, I thought of many things. Very many things. Am trying to sort them out and see what is palatable.

I haven’t been on the road for the past 3 days. Shall post back soon as the road run resumes.

The morning air was crisp and cool. After the first kilometer, there was a light drizzle that fizzled away in a few minutes. The weather has been acting up of late especially in the morning. Mist hung over the air like a big blanket, but my spirits could not have been higher. My thoughts were on a lengthy call I received last night from a friend who is in life coaching business. We discussed life goals (personal, professional and financial), desires, dreams, focusing, mentoring etc It was a very refreshing look at life and the direction I want to take.

The call could not have come at a better time than last night. I am consolidating my gains and finding the true calling in my life, the main thing. This is what I shall focus on and ignore the many life’s side shows that are always trying to distract me. These include naysayers, toxic friends, toxic environments, people who suck all the positive energy out of you etc. I have decided to hold my dreams in my hands and see them through to fruition. I am trusting God to steer me in the direction that shall have the most positive impact on my personal life and I shall use that to impact positively on other people’s lives.

All this shall come to pass.

Thank you for reading. Tomorrow is another day.

Life gets better everyday. We only need to grasp the fundamental laws in play and harness the powers therein to propel us in the destination we want. I was thinking of all this complex sounding stuff this morning.

I am seeking various ways to fire up my writing and inspiration seems to come from the oddest things around me. I have never looked at my surroundings in that way. My creative mind interpretes the incoming stuff and starts creating stories from them effortlessly. All I need to do then is capture the story before it disappears. Very interesting stuff this. My eyes are open.

Thank you for reading. Tomorrow is another day.
